Potato Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies

So guys, my friends over at The Cooking Code and I decided to do a recipe swap, where I make one of their recipes and they make one of mine. Let me tell ya, it was a great idea! I decided to make their Potato Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies, because first of all, my fam looooves cookies, and because the flavor combo of potato chips and chocolate chip cookies sounded intriguing.

And these cookies are INCREDIBLE! They’re a thick chewy cookie, with lots of chocolate chips, combined with the crunchy salty bite of potato chips. It’s the perfect balance of salty and sweet.

Making these Potato Chip Chocolate Chip Cookies was super fun too! They’re an absolute breeze. We begin by mixing together the butter and sugar, to aerate the dough, this helps our dough to be light and fluffy. Then mix in the vanilla, and then the remaining dry ingredients. Beginning with the mixer on low, we gently mix in the flour, until it’s just combined. We don’t want to over mix it, because then our cookies, will be flat, but if we mix it until the flour is just incorporated the batter will stay fluffy.

Once our cookie dough is mixed, we add in the crushed potato chips, and the chocolate chips. I recommend using a spatula to fold in the potato chips and chocolate chips. This will help you incorporate them without over mixing the dough. Once the dough is mixed, we divide the cookie dough into eight equal sections, and place four cookies on each cookie sheet.

The instructions said to bake the cookies for 13 minutes, but I ended up baking them for longer, about 20 minutes, because the cookies are big and thick, and I like my cookies to have a nice golden brown exterior.

Once the cookies are baked let them cool on a cookie sheet for about 10 minutes. Once they’ve cooled, then you can use a spatula to remove them from the cookie sheet and eat alllll the deliciousness!

Trust me, these cookies are amazing! Definitely worth making! For the full recipe head over The Cooking Code to get the full recipe and instructions!
