About

Hi friend!

I’m Julia and I am sooo glad you’re here! Welcome to Baking This Simple — my little creative corner of the internet. It’s a place I love and I hope you do too!

Now, I must start by saying, I am not a trained pastry chef by any means, and to be completely honest, I often don’t have hours to spend in the kitchen baking. But I truly love baking and creating scrumptious treats to share with others. Baking This Simple is designed with this in mind. It’s delicious recipes, that can be made in a short amount of time. It’s for the days when you only have an hour to spare or the days when you have lots of time on your hands. It’s recipes for everyone.

Julia

For as long as I can remember, the kitchen has always been a creative outlet for me. I have so many fond memories of rainy days spent in the kitchen, following the instructions in children’s cookbooks for how to bake my own “extravagant” desserts — all of them, perfectly suited for a six year old. As my comfort in the kitchen grew, my cookbook adventures would occasionally veer out into their own experimental recipes — sometimes good, sometimes a little weird, the pursuit however, always remained the same — creating.

Those glorious baked goods would then be proudly presented to my dad and mom, and regardless of the uniqueness of the ingredients, they always encouraged me in my “craft.” This is really where it all began.

As the years have passed, I have, much to the delight of my parents and siblings, figured out what ingredients actually go well together, and fine tuned my craft a bit more. Now it’s not uncommon for the cookies to be devoured within 24 hours and the bread to be consumed overnight, literally. I think that’s why I love baking so much though, because it’s not just about creating for myself, but for others. It’s the gift of being able to share something good with my friends and family.

I hope that this little corner of the internet encourages you. Life isn’t perfect, it’s messy — just like baking. But I hope Baking This Simple encourages you to keep creating regardless of the mess. I hope it inspires you to put on your apron, get out your measuring spoons, and bake something beautiful!

Happy baking friends!

Lots of love,

Julia
